AVN’s Adult Entertainment Expo–adult films’ biggest annual fan convention–starts this week on Wednesday, January 20, and runs through Saturday, January 23, at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. (See my diary of AVN/AEE 2015.)
In addition to all the booths staffed by the porn world glitterati, aisles filled with lingerie models and hot young things wearing only body tape, and demos of bondage gear, virtual reality glasses, pole dancing, sex toys and more, there’s also a full schedule of shows and seminars throughout the Expo–all included with your admission fee.
On Wednesday, for example, you can take a seminar on the challenges and rewards of a career in Niche Porn, a sex Q&A with Jessica Drake, or–my favorite–The Violet Wand seminar at 5:30 p.m. (“Ever wonder what 50,000 volts feels like?”).
On Thursday, there will be a seminar on spanking “for pleasure and punishment,” plus a meet and greet with AVN’s Best New Starlet nominees.
On Friday, you can take a class on the “proper use of chastity belts” with Sir Nik Satanas or attend a panel discussion with The Men of Adult, where guys who get paid to fuck the hottest women in the world get to sit on stage and laugh at the rest of us. Apparently the guys will also share their favorite horror stories from the adult film sets.
Also on Friday afternoon, don’t miss Jessica Drake’s class on “Anal for Beginners.”
Meanwhile, afternoons at The Joint, Hard Rock’s famous rock venue, you will be able to watch performances by the X Burlesque and X Rock dancers, aerial performances by Nikki Phoenix (lovely star of Daddy Knows Best and Cheerleaders Gone Bad 2), join in a Beer Pong tourney on Thursday, or on Friday attend a “LAIR Performance by Sir Nik.” Here’s how it works: Let’s say you’re a masochist. You give Sir Nik a hundred bucks and he beats the crap out of you. There will be a “LAIR Performance by Miss Nikki Rouge” on Saturday–same location, different torturer.
All performances at The Joint are included in your Adult Entertainment Expo admission as well.
And don’t forget about the “Carnal Comedy” hour on Thursday night at Sapphire Gentlemen’s Club–free admission, open bar, and stand-up comedy by adult film stars Ron Jeremy, Nina Hartley, Kurt Lockwood, Rebecca Love, Evan Stone and Kyle Stone.
