There’s a Big Fight on Saturday, September 15, that will be packing in the crowds. Mexican Independence Day is on Sunday September 16 and one of the fighters is a Mexican national. Vegas will be packed, so if you’re planning to be in town that weekend, make your reservations asap.
Because the Big Fight is at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, as well as on Pay-Per-View, the promoters are blocking the local sports bars and strip clubs from advertising screening parties. But that doesn’t mean you have to go to T-Mobile (where the cheap seats start at $669) or buy the PPV ($85) if you want to watch the fight. Many Vegas bars and strip clubs screen PPV events without advertising them.
The fight should start around 5 pm. Here are my favorite places to go for big fight parties:
Treasures Las Vegas is a fun place to go for fight parties because of their excellent free buffet of tailgate-style food. In the past, these fight-party buffets have included such items as hot dogs, pasta, pizza, subs, potato salad, mac & cheese, chips & salsa, etc. Domestics and wells are $1 each from 4 – 6 pm. All drinks are half-price from 6 – 8 pm. Cover charge is $50 for out-of-towners; $30 for locals with NV ID. Check out Treasures VIP package deals on their website here.
Sapphire has a general admission package for $65 that includes free limo transport to the club, free admission, a free buffet and general admission seating in the club’s main room.
Sapphire is also offering a $125 VIP package that includes free limo transport to the club, free admission, a free buffet and VIP seating in the club’s Showroom, which features three of the biggest HD screens in Vegas. Other group and bottle packages are available here or call 702-869-0003.
Other clubs that usually screen PPV events include Deja Vu Showgirls, Hustler Club, and Crazy Horse 3. We can’t say for sure which clubs might screen the fights since they can’t advertise or promote this event, so call the clubs for info if you’re interested.
A number of Vegas strip clubs will also be screening UFC 228 on Saturday, September 8. For more information on the best places to watch, see our post on UFC 228 fight-viewing parties.
