Wednesday is Amateur Night at Little Darlings (club review). That means girls 18+ will be showing up and dancing on stage to try and win some of the $500 in prize money and/or get a job working as a dancer at the club.
I used to go to Little Darlings’ amateur nights regularly because these can be fun shows (you never know what’s going to happen). Contest winners are chosen by audience applause and the contestants tend to try hard.
But I must confess it’s been quite a few months since I’ve been to one if these events, because they often don’t actually happen. This might not be a bad time to try again, since the club has been in the news so much the past few weeks with their advertising campaign to attract the new crop of 18-year-old high school graduates. (See “Little Darlings – Because a Mind Is Terrible Thing to Waste (and so is a Body.”)
The contest never starts until after midnight and often more like 1:00 or 1:30, but show up earlier if you want a good seat on the rail.
Age 18+. No alcohol. Cover is $35 for out-of-towners (locals $15).
