The annual Pole Expo, a series of workshops and competitions related to the art of pole dancing, is coming to the Rio Hotel on August 22-24. This will be Olympics-level gymnastics, guys, not the topless and nude erotic pole dancing found in the best Las Vegas strip clubs. There will be both male and female athletes competing.
The expo will also feature workshops geared toward women who are interested in performing as strippers, which is where most professional pole dancers ply their trade. The titles of some of these classes are: Floor F*ckery, 99 Ways to Twerk, Floor Work with a Bang, “Sell Your Sexy” Floorwork, Rise & Grind, and Striptease/Lap Dance. Wow, an actual school for strippers at the Rio!
If you’re a pole fanatic, an All Access Pass is $189. That gets you into most of the competitions as well as the vendor area all three days. If you’re primarily interested in watching the competition for Overall Pole Classic Champion, between the best eight pole athletes (both male and female), that event is Friday night, August 23 at 6:30 pm. General admission tix for that event are $40.
