Euphoric Closes: “We Hardly Knew Ya”
The urban dance club on the south end of the strip announced they were closing after only five months of operations. It seems that the final nail in the coffin was a well-publicized shooting in the parking lot involving troubled rapper Blueface.
According to reports from Las Vegas Metro, the Las Vegas Review Journal, TMZ and the New York Post the rapper became enraged at a customer who teased the musician about the quality of girl he was seen with on the outside of the club.
Johnathan Porter, 25, popularly known as Blueface, was arrested on November 15th outside Lo-Lo’s Chicken and Waffles, near East Flamingo Road and Koval Lane, on arrest warrants for attempted murder and discharging a firearm.
Video taken of the arrest and posted by TMZ.com shows Metro undercover officers tackling Blueface and arresting him while others off camera criticize and question officers about the arrest.
The club developed a following based on the music and the reputation for dancers that graced the several stages in the small club. If you are a fan of bouncing booties … Euphoric could have been your choice. Watch this video pasted in a “Rest in Pece” style Instagram on December 17th.
Club Manager Daniel Hackett has a background in area night clubs and hookah lounges. TVO wishes him well. Mr. TVO will have to find a new club to watch his NHL games!
