Stratosphere’s Radius Pool – Review

  • IN A NUTSHELL: Cool rooftop pool with a great panoramic view (25th floor) and, with Moorea Beach, the most likely Vegas hotel pool for actually seeing multiple cute topless girls.

This rooftop pool, located on the 25th floor of the Stratosphere Hotel, got a major upgrade and renovation a few years ago.  It remains tops-optional.

There is usually a good crowd here, even in the summer heat, with an even mix of males and females. The DJ pumps house and hip hop beats and the crowd keeps the beach balls flying (critical to keep the girls from lying on their tummies on their lounge chairs). Good party atmosphere.

But the most important thing for readers of this website — there is usually a good supply of cute topless girls on hand (see this 2019 trip report by John D to get an idea).  Even if you get to the pool and none of the girls are topless yet, they are probably going to get topless as soon as they’re reassured that it’s allowed.  The Strat could help us guys out a lot by posting the rules more clearly.

Only Stratosphere hotel guests get free entry. The pool is open to the public, but anyone who isn’t a guest of the Strat (whether local or Vegas visitor) has to pay $14, with a two-drink minimum.

In any case, I like the new look — much classier with more shade areas and good food. Salads, sandwiches, sliders, wraps, burgers, grilled chicken, and fresh fruit plates are reasonably priced.

Chris: Right now, all the Vegas pools are closed. I’ll have to check into the Strat’s policies this coming pool season that starts in May. That tweet you posted that says the Strat pool was requiring tops is from last July. Who knows what any Vegas pool policies will be this coming pool season? Hopefully, by summer, people will remember what the purpose of Vegas is — to PARTY!

Just wanted to post my trip report. I was there on a Wed,Thurs,Fri and I thought it was a great topless pool. I think one of the problems they run into at Radius is they don’t make it obvious that topless is allowed. When nobody was topless I heard a couple of girls wondering if they could but didn’t want to take the risk of getting thrown out. After they saw other girls take their tops off they were fine.

Wed – I got the pool around 4pm and there was already around 5 topless girls and 2 others that were flashing other people in their party. Mixture of ages and ethnicity.

Thurs – Probably the most disappointing day. I went out to the pool for lunch. There was a fun bachelorette party in the early afternoon where 3/4 girls were topless and dancing to the DJ. After they left, it got pretty quiet.

Fri – The best day by far. Several girls were topless around 1pm, as other girls saw the original girls topless they started taking their tops off as well. By 2pm, there was at least a dozen girls without tops. A game of titty ball broke out which got the girls trying to sunbathe on their bellies to stand up as well.

John D, thanks for the great report. Always best to hear from someone who was there multiple times on multiple days. I will update our pool pages.

A little update here wouldn’t hurt. Went up there Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and it was rocking. The DJ is good there’s plenty of inflatables for the pool which were being used and I’d say about 6 topless girls which is not great but not bad either because sometimes that’s all you get at Bare. First time I’ve been up there since they remodeled and was pleasantly surprised. Other than the inflated prices but you can’t escape that anymore in this town.

New for 2016 it looks like they’ve done away with the cover change and now are just doing a two drink minimum. I’ll be checking it out in a few weeks…

Besides the cosmetic renovations, I heard that they also upgraded it with a DJ booth and LED lighting to make it more of a club scene after dark. I don’t know how the pool will be involved after dark, whether just a decoration in the middle or a swimming after dark scenario. I am interested to read what you find out. After the Sahara closed, the Strat became my value-priced destination for trips to Vegas. This hotel seems to be a bit of a hidden gem. They do a lot without the resources of the major strip casinos.
