When I saw this pic (at right) on the official WSOBP facebook page, it struck me that TVO readers might be interested in this event.
For the twelfth time in the last 12 years, the World Series of Beer Pong is coming to Las Vegas next month. The three-day event will run from June 2 – 4, 2017, at the Westgate Hotel (formerly Hilton) in Las Vegas.
This is the longest-running organized beer pong tournament in the world, with a guaranteed minimum prize pool of $35,000. The actual prize pool is based on the number of teams competing. Last year’s first prize was $50,000. Thousands of beer pong enthusiasts from all over the world are expected to show up for this event, which just keeps getting bigger every year.
As I have never attended a WSOBP event, I’m not sure exactly what the photo above depicts, except that in the official WSOBP rules, “distractions” are allowed, so perhaps those are some of the legal distractions.
You can register now at BPONG.COM/WSOBP. Registration is $299.95 and includes a minimum of 12 games of play in the tournament. Players may buy into the event at any time prior to May 07, 2017. All participants must be 21 years or older with a valid ID. WSOBP XII Spectator Passes are available for $20 per day or $50 for all three days of the tournament.
