X Burlesque 13th Anniversary Update is the Sexiest Version Yet

x-burlesque-XX Burlesque, the topless production show at the Flamingo, just keeps getting sexier. I haven’t reviewed the show in a couple years, but I recently caught their 13th anniversary show. Not that much has changed in the past two years–which is good, because I loved the show the last time I saw it–but there are a few notable additions.

I really like the four dancers in corsets dancing to the Pussycat Dolls’ “Right Now (Let Me Take You by the Hand).” That number segues into a striptease and topless Charleston. The five dancers who perform to Beyonce’s “Who Run the World (Girls)” are also sizzlingly sexy.

The country segment has added a new intro with two dancers boogying to Justin Moore’s “Back That Thing Up.”

The hard rock segment is about the same (Guns and Roses, Bon Jovi, Warrant), but it still disappoints me that the Flamingo can’t get a professional stripper pole–one that’s tightly secured at both the bottom and top–onto that mini-stage. It’s got to be nerve-wracking for the pole dancers the way that thing shakes and wobbles. Even the mini-platform tips and tilts from the dancers’ weight.

I could understand the chintzy pole if this was a temporary show that was going to be gone in a month. But this show has been playing seven nights a week for 13 years!

I really like the five dancers who perform on straight-back chairs to Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk.” And I love the three dancers who perform to Rihanna’s “Diamonds in the Sky”–one with a Jubilee-style headdress!

Also, if I’m not mistaken, I counted nine dancers on stage for the finale and in my 2013 review I said there were six dancers in the whole show–other than for the stand-up comic Nancy Ryan. And I should mention that Nancy Ryan was in rare form, had the audience howling (again). She’s a comedic treasure in this town.

X Burlesque performs every night at 10 pm in Bugsy’s Cabaret at the Flamingo. See my full review of the show here.
